Question/Information

The Wolf mainly lives off moose and other large prey. They are frightened of humans and are hard to see in the wild. Therefore it is difficult to say how many wolves we have in Sweden. Somewhere between 300 to 400 wolves are found in our forests. They are found in the middle of Sweden. Why are there no wolves in northern Sweden?

  • They would eat the Sami's reindeer in that case

  • They think it's too cold up there

  • There is not so much food

  • There will be too much snow for the wolf to get through in the forest
